The Adams gang got in touch with me during their stay in town visiting family & friends from Canada. I'm glad we could get an appointment booked down before they had to fly back home to Calgary! I had a great time with Brad, Christine, & their two kiddos!

Here are some of my faves from our session at Cajun Village in Sorrento, La.

& P.S. This is the day I got a flat tire and Brad changed it for me! Fortunate! :D

The Nizzo family was my first 2011 session! I'm going to try to blog every session I shoot this year just to showcase the diverse images caught in a session that I catch.

I had so much fun with Brian, Brittney, and their two year old Caroline at the Cajun Village earlier this month. Below are some of my favorite images!

I had the pleasure of photographing James Carville & Mary Matalin at their home in New Orleans for the Boot Campaign last month! Here are the two shots that made the campaign trail & I'm happy to be part of something great. Thanks Danielle & Matt for the opportunity!

I will be photographing the Never Quit Never Forget Gala as well which I'm looking forward to. See the press release shown below for more details!

NEVER QUIT NEVER FORGET GALA
Marcus Luttrell, Navy Cross Recipient and Author of the New York Times
Bestseller Lone Survivor, to Visit Baton Rouge to Promote the Lone
Survivor Foundation
(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) On March 26, 2011, Marcus Luttrell, highly
decorated Navy SEAL and author of Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of
Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, will speak to
promote the Lone Survivor Foundation (LSF). The Foundation seeks to
welcome home, empower, and restore America's wounded warriors and their
families. Also speaking will be Navy SEAL Lt. Jason Redman and Char
'Fontan' Westfall.
While recovering from combat wounds, Lt. Redman placed a hand written sign
on his hospital door rejecting pity and touting his determination to make
a full recovery. A photo of the sign was widely circulated, inspiring many
around the world. Mr. Redman is the founder of Wounded Wear which provides
free clothing and clothing modifications to wounded warriors.
Char 'Fontan' Westfall is the surviving spouse of New Orleans Native and
Navy SEAL, Jacques Fontan. Chief Petty Officer Jacques Fontan was one of
the 16 troops killed in a rescue mission during Operation Redwing. This
was the largest loss of life in a single day for Naval Special Warfare
since World War II. June 28 is now Naval Special Warfare Day in Louisiana
to commemorate the sacrifices of CPO Fontan and his fallen brothers. Mrs.
'Fontan' Westfall will provide a firsthand account of the support and
guidance she has received from the United Warrior Survivors Foundation.
Local combat veterans and Purple Heart recipients Army Ranger Chance
Vaughn and U.S. Marine Ryan Cahill will also be guests of honor.
The Gala will be held in downtown Baton Rouge at the Lyceum Ballroom from
7p-11pm. The Event's purpose is to raise money for both The Lone Survivor
Foundation and The United Warrior Survivor Foundation which serves the
needs of surviving spouses of special operations military personnel killed
in the line of duty.
Auction and raffle items include authenticated American flags flown over
military bases in Iraq, a 4 Karat Black Diamond Solitaire, and an AR-15
rifle.
Please view www.neverquitneverforget.org for ticket, sponsorship and
additional information.

I first met Maxim three years ago in Austin where I was the set photographer for Mosdeux's THE DEAF FAMILY film. Maxim was nothing but a bundle of great times throughout our three weeks of filming. I had not seen him since then until this week! He has an amazing gig as one of the clowns for the Cirque Du Soleil show, Alegria! We will be going catch him this coming Friday at 7:30pm. It starts tonight with their first Baton Rouge performance at the River Center in downtown! If you haven't - go buy your tickets here.

He came and stayed with us for two nights so of course, I took advantage of having another artist in my home and put him in front of my lens! He is a well known mime in the deaf community, and known for his amazing facial expressions/outlandish performances..... so I wanted to get the total opposite.
I am in love with these images. They're simple, striking, and make you just stare. They're borderline creepy/sinister looking but he has an amazing soul. A gentle one.

mrs TTP:
hes a brilliant actor.. even tho hes not acting in these pixs, he kind of is-- he looks so tough in these pixs but hes really a gentle soul like you said :) i enjoyed having him around!!!!!! proud to know him too!

I had the pleasure of being introduced to a marvelous personality in Los Angeles this past summer & her name is NYKE! Shoshannah told me I'd just love her, and well - she was right.

We decided to collaborate and do a sitting. I originally wanted to do them for a possible submission for an online magazine, but after a few weeks - it's just too arty and less fashion. I think these are some of the most beautiful simple, raw images I've done of someone.
Nyke! Thank you so much for being a subject. These are a few from our session together. Come visit us in Louisiana! (and bring Sho!! :D)

sarahtullier:
