It's been 65 days as of yesterday for the 365 day project I'm doing with my self portraits. Here's the February 2011 shots.....

Screen shot 2011-03-07 at 9.38.17 AM.png

Denice Cyrex left a message on my Facebook wall stating she saw a blurb with my name in the latest InRegister magazine. I had no clue what she was talking about - sure enough, the editor of the magazine had chosen me as one of her five local people that she imagines would make an "interesting lunch date" - she has been watching my 365 day project via my Facebook. What a nice compliment! I contacted Kelly through Facebook and said, "Let's do lunch! or have a dinner party here at Maison Looziana...."

Good for you! This is my 3rd year doing a 365, just everyday stuff. I have yet to do a complete 365 - I always have holes. The everyday gives me enough of a challenge, there's no way I could do a 365 self portrait challenge!!

I shot various couples last Friday for Layne's Jewelry & Design's latest campaign. I collaborated with a wonderful marketing company, Mindworx. I look forward to doing more work for them - we had such great chemistry!

Here is the first one that will start to run starting Feb 1st in the Advocate Ascension Section (Thursdays) & the Gonzales Weekly. The models were actual customers - David & Jessica Miller who were a sweet couple to photograph.

Never Quit Never Forget Gala
    Saturday, March 26, 2011
  Baton Rouge, Louisiana

  Press Release
Matt Reames (225)362-1830

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

                         NEVER QUIT NEVER FORGET GALA
Marcus Luttrell, Navy Cross Recipient and Author of the New York Times
Bestseller Lone Survivor, to Visit  Baton Rouge to Promote the Lone
Survivor Foundation

(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) On March 26, 2011, Marcus Luttrell, highly
decorated Navy SEAL and author of Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of
Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, will speak to
promote the Lone Survivor Foundation (LSF).  The Foundation seeks to
welcome home, empower, and restore America's wounded warriors and their
families. Also speaking will be Navy SEAL Lt. Jason Redman and Char
'Fontan' Westfall.

While recovering from combat wounds, Lt. Redman placed a hand written sign
on his hospital door rejecting pity and touting his determination to make
a full recovery. A photo of the sign was widely circulated, inspiring many
around the world. Mr. Redman is the founder of Wounded Wear which provides
free clothing and clothing modifications to wounded warriors.

Char 'Fontan' Westfall is the surviving spouse of New Orleans Native and
Navy SEAL, Jacques Fontan.  Chief Petty Officer Jacques Fontan was one of
the 16 troops killed in a rescue mission during Operation Redwing. This
was the largest loss of life in a single day for Naval Special Warfare
since World War II.  June 28 is now Naval Special Warfare Day in Louisiana
to commemorate the sacrifices of CPO Fontan and his fallen brothers. Mrs.
'Fontan' Westfall will provide a firsthand account of the support and
guidance she has received from the United Warrior Survivors Foundation.

Local combat veterans and Purple Heart recipients Army Ranger Chance
Vaughn and U.S. Marine Ryan Cahill will also be guests of honor.

The Gala will be held in downtown Baton Rouge at the Lyceum Ballroom from
7p-11pm. The Event's purpose is to raise money for both The Lone Survivor
Foundation and The United Warrior Survivor Foundation which serves the
needs of surviving spouses of special operations military personnel killed
in the line of duty.

Auction and raffle items include authenticated American flags flown over
military bases in Iraq, a 4 Karat Black Diamond Solitaire, and an AR-15
rifle.

Please view www.neverquitneverforget.org for ticket, sponsorship and
additional information.
